The Call for Proposals is open until 12 October 2020, and 96 cities and municipalities within the Region of Šumadija, Western, Southern and Eastern Serbia have the right to participate.
Local self-governments will be supported with up to 3,300 euros per project that aims to improving women's participation in the decision-making process, status of women in the local community in the area of combating gender-based violence, women's health, economic empowerment, status of rural women and improving the quality of life of vulnerable, marginalized and women with disabilities. Activities can also be aimed at improving the competencies of local mechanisms, as well as the promotion of the European charter for equality of women and men in local life.
The Programme especially encourages the establishment of inter-municipal and inter-institutional cooperation, and projects identified in local action plans for gender equality will be additionally validated.

To help all interested representatives of local self-governments and gender equality mechanisms to learn the details of the public call - including the application form, the project selection criteria and the eligible costs, the Swiss PRO Programme will organize online informative sessions according to the following schedule:
The public call is implemented within the Programme "Enhancing Good Governance and Social Inclusion for Municipal Development – Swiss PRO" supported by the Government of Switzerland in cooperation with the Government of Serbia, and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in partnership with the Standing Conference of towns and Municipalities (SCTM).
